We are a high quality preschool program built on professional early childhood practices and implemented by an experienced, caring staff from their Heads and Hearts.

COOS PHILOSOPHY

COOS Preschool, Creative Care, and Camp are based on the following ideas: CARING, OPENNESS, and OBSERVING organized by a SUPPORTIVE STAFF.

CARING for CHILDREN so they will Grow, Learn, and Thrive is the most important aspect of an Early Childhood program.

OPENESS to the uniqueness of each child and their family makes every day different and interesting for children and staff.

OBSERVING and expecting that the special inner gifts, talents, abilities, and interests of each child will be nurtured in differing ways. The SUPPORTIVE STAFF combines their CARING, OPENNESS, and OBSERVING to create the best Play-and-Learning Environments for each group of children they are privileged to teach.

Many preschool programs provide safe learning situations for young children 2½ - 5 years, but the essential differences between good and excellent programs are the STAFF: the SPECIAL PEOPLE who daily INTERACT in a professional manner with the children and families. The SPECIAL PEOPLE who CHOOSE this line of work and readily state they “LOVE to come to work everyday”. The SPECIAL People who ASK FOR MORE resources and workshops so they can “offer more art, new science stuff, more beautiful books”. The SPECIAL PEOPLE who challenge themselves to be BETTER for the children in their care. COOS STAFF does all of this and more – and teach from their Heads and Hearts.
