"We couldn't be happier with COOS. It is an environment of fun and caring, which is shown by the fact that all the teachers know all of the children's names, no matter if they are in their class or not. In an industry where turn-over is high, this preschool has many teachers who have been there for years and years.
Ellie loves school, pouts when I pick her up at least once a week, and has really grown into her own at COOS. The staff values each child for his/her own personality and helps them discover who they are. It is a play-based preschool, yet Ellie has learned more to prepare her for Kindergarten than my son did at a much more expensive preschool.
I will be happy to see my youngest go to Kindergarten this fall, but I will be very sad to be leaving COOS. The staff is so wonderful, caring and cohesive, and it is obvious that they have fun with the children and love their jobs. We feel so lucky to have found such a special place for our daughter to spend 2 years."

"My daughter is thriving at COOS, despite having many challenges (severe allergies, shyness, etc.).  Child- teacher ratio is great and teachers are always working so hard. They get kids interested in science and math (you know mommy if a shark ever stops swimming it drowns).  They are very gentle and nurturing.  My girl actually wants to go to school now.  What a difference this school has made.  I wish they had a kindergarten program."

"My two-year old grandson LOVES the COOS preschool.  He loves the teacher, making friends with the other kids, singing the songs they learn, making the projects, listening to stories, playing on the slides and teeter-totter and shooting baskets in the big room.  He even love lining up to wash his hands!  He has two wonderfully kind and creative teachers, Miss Kari and Miss Julie, and all the other teachers make a special point to interact with him, too. How much does his family like him coming to the COOS preschool?  They bring him all the way from Grosse Pointe!"

"I have worked at COOS preschool for many years. When my son graduated from COOS he was ready to move on. I wasn't. Luckily, my degree in Elementary Ed and Early Childhood enabled me to get a job here.
The staff is very warm and caring. We care about each child and their family. We get to see a lot of the children start in the two and a half year old program and graduate from the four year old program. In that time we really develop strong bonds with the children and their parents. These strong relationships really help us to teach to the whole child.
A few years ago I had the opportunity to make considerably more money working in the public school system. I was very unhappy there. I wasn't able to get to know the whole child. They were too regimented in their approach as well. This wasn't my idea of early childhood learning. I was very happy to come back to COOS. I feel we give the children everything they need to be successful in kindergarten and beyond."
