"We couldn't be happier with
COOS. It is an environment of fun and caring, which is shown by the
fact that all the teachers know all of the children's names, no matter
if they are in their class or not. In an industry where turn-over is
high, this preschool has many teachers who have been there for years and
years. Stephanie Scigliano
"My daughter is thriving at COOS, despite having many challenges (severe allergies, shyness, etc.). Child- teacher ratio is great and teachers are always working so hard. They get kids interested in science and math (you know mommy if a shark ever stops swimming it drowns). They are very gentle and nurturing. My girl actually wants to go to school now. What a difference this school has made. I wish they had a kindergarten program." Julia Khanuk
"My two-year old grandson LOVES the COOS preschool. He loves the teacher, making friends with the other kids, singing the songs they learn, making the projects, listening to stories, playing on the slides and teeter-totter and shooting baskets in the big room. He even love lining up to wash his hands! He has two wonderfully kind and creative teachers, Miss Kari and Miss Julie, and all the other teachers make a special point to interact with him, too. How much does his family like him coming to the COOS preschool? They bring him all the way from Grosse Pointe!" Karen L.
"As parents, nothing is more comforting than knowing that my kids are being loved, respected and educated while we are working. COOS provides a welcoming, friendly and culturally diverse environment that offered positive social development for the kids COOS balanced approach in respect to family value, physical activities, classroom education and individual development are outstanding! The always smiling and cheerful staff added the final touch." Zhao-Yu
"COOS is a wonderful preschool. The school was recommended by a friend year ago. This is my third child attending the school. I didn’t even think twice about where she would go even though there are closer preschools. My children grew emotionally, had lots of fun and learned so much about people, sharing caring as well as being ready for kindergarten. COOS is not a center, it is a family environment away from home." Sarah Salem
"I would very much like to recognize COOS preschool for their outstanding contributions to my daughter and family. I myself work in an Elementary school and am very familiar with curriculum and needs for young children. I can not express enough how happy I am that my daughter is part of the atmosphere and family at COOS. My sadness comes with the fact that next school year she will be attending kindergarten and we will have to say good-bye to all of our COOS friends. I am very pleased with the progress that she has made at COOS and so grateful on how well prepared she is for kindergarten." Michelle Bradley
"As a single parent, I was very “picky” about where my child was going to be. COOS offered a family feeling that made me feel so very comfortable having my child here. All the staff is so very caring of the children’s needs that it feels very much like family. I would recommend this preschool for anyone looking for a caring, loving atmosphere." Kari Ternes
Comments from the staff: "I have worked at COOS
preschool for many years. When my son graduated from COOS he
was ready to move on. I wasn't. Luckily, my degree in Elementary Ed and
Early Childhood enabled me to get a job here.
"I have worked at COOS for 4 years and can’t say enough wonderful things about it. The satisfaction and happiness when a child says your name with a great big smile makes my day. The family atmosphere at COOS is another great asset. Everyone cares for all of the children and I think it makes for a feeling of closeness and comfort the children."
"I have worked at COOS since 1989. I love working here, it is a very rewarding experience. Working with the staff is like being with my family. It is such a loving and caring environment that it’s a joy to go to work. It’s wonderful to see the children start off (4 yr. Olds) not knowing how to cut or write their names and by the time they leave, they’re cutting like pros and writing their names. At times, it can be a little crazy, but what job isn’t? Is it worthwhile? Would I be here 20 years if it weren’t?"
